Joining God in His transformational love of the soul, in the city, to change the world.
WE ARE ABOUT
Transforming the soul.
Transforming the city.
Transforming the world.
WHO IS SOUL CITY?
Soul City Church is a movement of people
committed to daily living out the Transformational Love of Jesus
in the City so that we can change the World.

Soul City Church is a movement of people committed to daily living out the Transformational Love of Jesus in the City so that we can change the World.  We are committed to bringing the transformational love of God to the most strategic neighborhoods of the most influential cities in our culutre.

We are launching in the city of Chicago in 2010.

Our Mantra :: Joining God in His transformational love of the soul, in the city, to change the world.

Soul City is about ::

Transformation :: At Soul City church everyone is accepted, but everyone is expected.  We believe that God created us to transform and through the power of the gospel God changes every element of our lives from the inside out.  We believe that as we are transformed into our true identity we experience freedom that liberates us to love our community in a way that promotes peace and health that can bring transformation to our neighborhoods, city, and the world.

7 > 1 :: We believe that 7 days of the week have more potential than just one.  Far too many people describe church as a service they attend or a building that they visit.  We long for the church to have an incarnational impact on our community every day of the week.  Our hope is that the city rejoices over our presence and partnership in bringing renewal and restoration.

Moments that lead to Movements :: We believe that something unique and transcendent happens when people gather together in one place seeking God.  We do all we can to create moments that are not only memorable, but transformational.  Moments that move us forward together.  We are committed to creating excellent environments where people can encounter God and take steps in their relationship with Him.

// JARRETT and JEANNE STEVENS //

chicago_55-bwJARRETT grew up in the East Bay of San Francisco.  He came to faith at a young age, but it wouldn’t be until college that he would intentionally start following Jesus.  He met Jeanne while on a week long trip to Chicago and never quite  recovered.  After dating a few years, they were married and began working at Willow Creek Community Church in South Barrington, IL. Jarrett worked at Willow for 12 years as a Teaching Pastor for AXIS before moving to Atlanta to work with North Point Church.  While there, Jarrett worked as the Singles Pastor and as leader and communicator for 7|22.  He’s the author of The Deity Formerly Known as God as well as the upcoming title, Four Small Words. Jarrett is known for his humor and honesty in his teaching and he is a creative leader with a pastor’s heart.  Without a doubt his greatest joy is his relationship with Jeanne who continues to fascinate him, as well as their two beautiful children, Elijah (whom Jarrett still dresses) and Gigi (self proclaimed Diva of the house).
